Tour of Terceira
Linda and David graciously gave us a driving tour along the road that circumnavigates the island. Green everywhere! Volcanic rock walls crisscross the landscape. Sea cliffs and woods and cows … We shall let the pics speak for themselves.

We came home fairly early and decided to make some food where we are staying. Wine, cheese, bread, and melon.

After the great island tour, Linda and David dropped us off in the center of town in Angra. We had some coffee and did a little walking around to try to acquaint ourselves with everything. The town and everybody in it is getting ready for the big festivities that start tomorrow and continue on for a few days. We are really looking forward to being able to participate in the festivities that are supposed to start mostly at 10 PM on Friday and go well into Saturday morning. We shall see how far we get.
The place that we found to stay is a few miles from Angra. While it’s a little bit further and makes it a little more difficult to get to, the location is quite amazing and we really got lucky. It’s a fairly new and modern glamping resort that has some interesting tents that you can rent. But they also have this small little house that includes a bedroom, large bathroom, kitchen and living room. It’s all very modern but also fits in well with the architecture of the island. We can’t say enough about VRBO, which is like Airbnb, it always works out well for us.

We have no idea what we’re doing tomorrow, except sleeping in for sure.
